We work together to continually develop and implement sustainable solutions. Through Green Thread, our environmental sustainability platform, we bring innovative and efficient solutions to life. We are passionately focused on reducing the environmental impact within our operations.

Here are just a few ways we work to make our campus more environmentally conscious:

Sustainable Purchasing

Did you know Dining Services is focusing on sustainable purchasing and identifies and serves an increasing amount of locally grown, organic, and vegan items at each residential dining hall when possible?

Recycling

Dining Services partners with Campus Kitchen Project, a student-run organization, since 2008. The Campus Kitchen Project runs an organic garden on campus that grows produce that is donated to local food kitchens.

Reusables

Beverage discounts are available with a reusable cup purchase available at Starbucks, Atrium Cafe, Einstein Bros Bagels and P.O.D.

Reusable To-Go Containers

Fryer Oil Recycling

One hundred percent of dining services used fryer oil is recycled by Alliance Processors, Inc. in Fort Worth, Texas.

Hydration Stations

Dining Services offers several hydration stations throughout campus.  Use the filtered water stations to refresh and refuel while helping to impact your carbon footprint.

Recycled Content Paper

check
We use 30% recycled content office and copy paper in dining locations on campus.

Green Cleaning

check
All dining locations are committed to using electrically-activated tap water in our operations to reduce the need for chemical based cleaning products and provide a healthy and safe learning environment.

Energy & Water Conservation

check
We train our employees each semester on common energy and water conservation practices in order to conserve precious natural resources.
